In May of 2017, I left America. I gave away nearly all of my possessions, sold my beloved house, and went through the extremely painful process of telling all of my students, colleagues, friends and family goodbye. I had almost no definite plans; I simply had one contact at the New Zealand School of Music in Wellington, and one person I knew I could stay with for a few days.
I have remained in the Southern Hemisphere since then, for nearly 4 years. I have mainly traveled throughout the North Island of New Zealand, staying with people I met along the way. In Australia, I have been to the Gold Coast, Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney.
